Tax credit: your questions
In practice, what does an hour of cleaning cost me after the deduction?
Take regular cleaning: €50 an hour on the invoice, €25 once the 50% is applied. Three hours a week therefore come to €75 of real cost instead of €150. The same logic applies to ironing and windows done at your home.
I'm an individual: what qualifies at my home, and what doesn't?
Everything to do with the upkeep of your own home — regular or one-off cleaning, windows — falls under home care services. Ironing, which we collect and return, qualifies when it comes with a service carried out at your home. On the other hand, a property you let short-term is no longer your home: its upkeep belongs to your rental activity and sits outside the scheme. Clearance and waste disposal are excluded too.
And for a company, a shop or a building site?
No tax break of this kind: the scheme targets individuals' homes, not business premises. Offices, shops and post-construction cleans are priced on quote, at the real price, without the 50%.
Up to what level of spending does the tax office follow?
Expenses count up to €12,000 per year and per household, a cap that can be raised depending on your situation (a dependent child, a household member over 65…). Beyond that, services remain possible, simply without any additional tax advantage.
Do I have to pay the full amount while waiting for my tax return?
By default, yes: you pay the full rate and the 50% comes back through your tax return. URSSAF's immediate advance scheme, however, lets you pay only your share at the time of payment — ask us where this scheme stands when you request your quote.
What proof do I need for my tax return?
Every year we give you a tax certificate summarising the amounts paid. You carry that figure over to your return and the 50% credit is calculated automatically — even if you pay no income tax, the amount is refunded to you.
